(1,406 posts)We're getting 16 inches tomorrow night. Knowing this early means at least I will have time to get gas for the snow blower, propane for the BBQ and plenty of storm chips. The last storm snuck up on us and we were buried for days.

(34,136 posts)Lots of wind, lots of rain. The weather guys said there were gusts over 40 mph and some suspected areas of rotation but no tornadoes confirmed - this time.

(63,221 posts)Which is good. I was not looking forward to going out into that mess - I'm in Boston. We are looking at high winds and 8 to 14 inches of snow and freezing cold temps after a mild wet day today. It's going to be a mess out there tomorrow.

(23,338 posts)Just like a thunderstorm, and you probably have those in N.O.
Much nicer than tornadoes.
Stay safe, wherever you are.

(14,624 posts)I had no idea it was a real thing.
And yes, we have many, many thunderstorms in New Orleans. We don't get too many tornadoes, though. They tend to stay north of Lake Pontchartrain. The ones earlier this week were kind of a fluke.
Now, hurricanes are a different story . . .

(205,202 posts)Yesterday it was sleet and freezing rain. But it was apparently worse to the North. Today it's snow, though they were predicting more to the South, we were on the dividing line, couldn't be sure if we'd get hit or not. I guess we have the answer...

(65,173 posts)It underperformed where I am in SE PA. Got about 4 inches when I was expecting 8-12" about 12 hours away from the storm.

(9,259 posts)Upper Bucks here. I work for a school, finally got a snow day. About 4 inches HS my street is already cleared. Certainly did not live up to the hype.

(10,749 posts)I southern New Hampshire, it's just winter. Don't get me wrong. I can't stand the snow, but it's kind of normal in winter. And this ones not blowing, it's not sleeting. Not gin, but okAy. Of course when it gets down to 7 degrees tonight I may have a different attitude.
