Been fighting a wicked migraine all day . . .

but couldn't really take time off because we are so busy at work.

The Flynn news, and DU, are keeping me sane today!

I plan to go home shortly, dope myself up, and hope for oblivion. Maybe when I wake up then next shoe will drop and another member of Cheeto's inner circle will be gone!

When I get one, I have to crawl under the covers because I can never get the room quite dark enough. I hope you have a restful night and wake up tomorrow felling much better.

I have some (probably dumb) rules for myself . . . if the migraine is not at level 10, I will stay at work all day, unless I vomit. If I wake up in the morning with a monster migraine, I will stay home.

Mine tend to wax and wane throughout the day. Taking medication and/or eating a meal helps for a while, then it usually comes roaring back. I have taken the maximum amount of fioricet and cambia for today.

At this point, I'm just being stubborn. I get really mad when the medication doesn't work. Stupid brain!

I'm due to go to my neurologist next week for Botox shots. Toward the end of the 3-month period between shots, they tend to get really bad.

had a complete hysterectomy for an unrelated problem, a bonus of it was I went from 10-15 headaches/month to 2-3. Now, 10 years later, I get one only every 6-8 weeks. It's such a relief. The only things I can really take are Imitrex injections because I just throw up pills. My migraines always involve my stomach, ugh.

Well, go home and cuddle with little Boudreaux. I hope that both of you are feeling much better tomorrow!

if you get migraines a lot, ask your neurologist about sphenopalatine ganglion blocks.

first prophylactic treatment mine have responded to after trying all kinds of different treatments over the course of the last 22 years!

He is a big believer in Botox injections. They seem to help, but when I am getting close to the next round of shots, the migraines come back. Going back for Botox injections next week. Just trying to hang on . . .

they don't really help my acute migraine frequency, but oddly enough they seem to make my head feel clearer on non-migraine days.

but yeah, they wear off a couple weeks before they let you get the next set of injections. you can get an occipital nerve block to "tide you over" for that gap, but that didn't do much for me.

glad you're at least getting some response from the botox.

feel better!

Fortunately we always have plenty of fast-acting migraine drug "samples" laying around the house. Plus, she's taught me how to recognize my triggers (wheat beer, lack of caffeine, severe changes in weather) and be ready for them.

Unfortunately, I've developed a new trigger, and he's big and fat and orange.

Hope you feel better soon! Migraines suck.

Short of that, you have my every sympathy. When I get a migraine I'm fucked up for a full day, and then I operate about about half-power for a full day after.
