through the glass door to the deck.

I hang a feeder on our back deck where I can watch the hummers from my desk. Does wonders for my mood. REALLY needing it, this year.
They should arrive here--central NC--around late March or early April.

Here in the 1000 Island region of NY I just got misty eyed two weeks ago seeing large flocks of Canadian Geese returning and two male robins fighting over territory. When I see them I know I won't be stuck inside with cabin fever for much longer.

about a week ago. There was a holly tree on the corner of our lane--LOADED with berries--and that flock of robins cleaned every
last berry off the tree in about 36 hours. It was amazing.

seen an actual flock of robins. The most I've seen is 3 maybe 4 hopping around the yard.

I was working on my butterfly garden, which has grown wild over winter. It is completely overrun by a shrimp plant, which the hummers love. I don't think the little guy saw me and almost ran into me. I heard the buzz before I saw the bird. He was in immediate retreat and was so scared that he went to the treetop of the nearest tree.

I know it's a ruby-throated variety because that's the only kind to my area.

How do I mark 2/27 for Central Florida?

How can there be so much energy wrapped up in that tiny package of a bird? Amazing!
