(The others, of course, are Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Brahms.)

We usually listen to it while driving, sometimes at home, and we notice that during a week, or so, the same pieces are repeated. Thus, yesterday afternoon this same concerto was playing. It was going to be followed by a Dvorak which, I think, was following in your station. The playlist was coming from American Public Media.

While this is my 'always' station, when I do catch another (from Baltimore,) it's different.

Several of our orchestra members were on track to Julliard even in Jr. High School - we were good enough to play the 2nd movement - the Canzonetta - using the full professional symphony score when I was in 8th grade for our end of the year concert - Leslie was terrific as the soloist.
That concert we also played the first movement from Schubert's Unfinished Symphony, Marche Slav, and a pops medley from Jesus Christ, Superstar.

(I was 1st chair violist - no jokes, please... )
