Is it just me, or is it everybody only wants to talk about themselves?

The only thing I know to do is talk about myself back to them. For example:

Me: I'm Raccoon.

Other person: I'm Soandso.

Me: So, where are you from originally?

Other: I grew up in Bumfuck, Anystate.

Me: I grew up in Bumfuck, Otherstate. I moved here umpteen years ago.

Get my drift? You come in with these little tidbits about yourself. Other person is more than
likely not going to ask, even out of politeness (Look up the definition of that word.)

I have at least one relative and one close friend who says the same thing.
