Yesterday morning we let our sixteen year old dog go. She had reached the point where she couldn't stand on her own. It was the right thing to do.
Then this morning I got a call that my grandma died. She was 92 years old so it wasn't unexpected.
But this has been a weekend I'd rather forget.

(3,709 posts)Hard enough to deal with one loss but two is so difficult. I lost two close family members, one dying on the day we buried the other, and remember how numb I felt during that time.
May you find peace in the memories of your loved ones.

And your grandma will be missed...I hope your good memories will help sustain you.

Something similar happened to me last year: the day we buried my dad, we came home and one of our cats - who had been slowing down but she was only 13, not very old for a cat - died in my husband's arms.
