L.A. studio musicians in the 60's/70's that were on almost every record that came out of there at that time

I considered this to be the West Coast version of "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" - I felt so stoopid watching it, because I had never once in my youth thought, "Say, who's the BAND playing on this song, anyway?" - the Funk Brothers, the Wrecking Crew, and apparently a wild man named Danny were integral parts of my life's soundtrack and damn! - I'm the last to know!!

successfully recreate this time period...meh...can't be done...nah...but the director (Randall Miller?) and ALAN RICKMAN just killed it. KILLED it!! What a delightful surprise it was!!

When Mr. Rickman died, I know most people were thinking about Harry Potter, but I was so very sad that his "Hilly" had apparently been overlooked...hopefully, with time, more and more of us will see this memorable, sweet-natured piece of history, though, and Alan will be remembered for this amazing gem as well -
