I have retired as a Lounge host.

But I'm on the waiting list and should be back tomorrow or the next day

Today was 89 days and I would have been off tomorrow automatically, so I just retired and "reapplied."

is that scamming the system? hope I don't get PPRd

I think it should be Host's duty to welcome every new guest they see in their group Tuesday Afternoon Apr 2012 #1

actually it IS a good idea, too bad we can't pin things in the big forums - we could have a "Welcome, check in here if you are new" thread pinned at the top of the first page.

Did you hear the story about how I served all the way from beta through the middle of March, something like 130 days? It was because I resigned for holiday break because I was going to be offline for about 1 month but added myself to the very-short waitlist figuring I'd get back on in mid/late January, only when I returned mid-January I discovered that several people had resigned the same day I had and I was back hosting either the same day I resigned or the next day with a much lower seniority and days-count.

I resigned about 1 month ago so other people could have a shot but nobody else really seems interested (waitlist was consistently empty) so I reapplied after a few weeks. (I'm your replacement) If the wait-list gets a few people deep and someone would have to wait a while, I'll resign again since at this point I've basically been a host for nearly 1/2-year with brief interruptions. I expect that if fresh blood applies, other people who've served a full term or longer would/should pass the torch.

I think when I first applied there were only like a dozen hosts and I made an announcement about the vacancies.

I knew I was about to be expired so I was checking how many days I had left, saw it was just one and went for the waiting list (which had only one, you)

I'm still a host for the AZ group so I have access to the host forum anyway - so yes if somebody has a pressing desire to be a lounge host and there isn't anybody falling off soon on the cycle I can retire again, no problem.

you should give it a try - there are hardly ever any alerts, so it's not exactly demanding work

But I have a feeling that I'd have to be here more than I really want to.

Maybe someday.
