(12,904 posts)A couple weeks ago, I needed one of those disposable aluminum baking pans. While at the grocery store I looked, and the size I needed was $7.49!
I went to the dollar store, and the same thing was two for $1!!! I could have bought 14 of them for the price listed at the grocery.

I don't really like dollar stores, unless I'm
looking for funny "Engrish" packaging or
balloons.

(30,947 posts)I try not to go there too often, because I cannot resist all the bargains whether I need them or not.

(13,421 posts)Don't ever expect to go back and find anything there a second time--you gotta buy it at the time. That is the only downer about shopping there. If you can remember that and are ok with it you can find some GREAT bargains! I buy laundry detergent and cleaning stuff there a lot of the time.

(9,465 posts)Even MallWart doesn't charge less than $8 a pair, so they were a real bargain. Made in China, of course, but even the pricey ones from the optometrist are these days. Since I only use them for threading needles or trying to read that itty bitty print on labels, they don't have to be made to order for me.

I volunteer sending books into women's prisons. They send us their requests and we do our best to send in 3 titles as close as we can get to the requests.
Probably the most frequent request we get is for journals.
