Dear DU friends

Dear friends,
First of all, I want to thank all of you that have given your positive support through donations or other encouragement. DU has been a vital asset to me for the past 17 years.

I am sorry that I have not updated our progress as regularly as I would like. Frankly, it is because our situation has taken some turns for the worse. Melodie is weighing the options between returning to teach in the fall if she is physically able and long term disability. I am currently appealing my disability determination.

My physical therapy is going well, but strengthening will take a while … and then there are the balance issues. Melodie is scheduled for surgery this Friday and physical therapy as soon as possible thereafter
Our costs have skyrocketed and our income has fallen off dramatically. We are unable to do the things that get us through the summer months. We are struggling to pay basic bills, medical and other. We have to relocate to less expensive housing as soon as possible – wherever that might be - but are stuck here while we recuperate from surgery.

Any help you can provide to transition through the next few months will be most appreciated. As always, I would also appreciate your comments and tips.

Peace.
