So, the videogame PREY is coming out tomorrow and my wife and I have been playing the demo. Just noticed some really interesting stuff about the game that I thought some people here would find interesting.
It doesn't spoil the games plot at all (We still have no idea whats going on after 2 hours) but the game hints that it's world is essentially a story told in alternative history. For example, there's a portrait of JFK in a showcase room with a plaque on it that reads his birthdate to the 2030's meaning, he never died. It even infers that JFK not only got us to the moon but went further by working with the Russians to build a space station called Talos I, where the game mostly takes place.
It's a really cool "what if?" kind of story telling. Just thought I'd share!

(10,345 posts)I know it's a real thing.
The developers of the game felt that including Kennedy would create an anchor that attached the story to the real world and therefore make the game more immersive. And even though I'm young and never experienced JFK, I do feel the immersion.
