My chihuahua is addicted to television and barks at every animal in commercials

It's amazing she knows which MUSIC belongs to commercials that have animals in them. She can be in the other room, but when she hears music belonging to a commercial that has an animal in it she will come running full blast into the room and bark at the tv. She can be snug under the covers and hear the commercial theme music come on and jump straight up out of the covers to run bark at the tv. I think she thinks the tv is a portal and that those animals can somehow get into our house. It's frustrating because more and more commercials have animals in them.

It's interesting though she does recognize one piece of music from another. She knows many tunes and knows which commercials they belong to. I'm wondering of using music to train dogs would be better than words?

There was the commercial, I think a PSA, with a mouse running around. Our best mouser, Pepper Pele, was starring at the screen when the mouse disappeared. She jumped on the table and ran to the back of the TV. She answered our question. She saw and recognized a TV mouse was just that a mouse.

She got the name Pele because she would've given the soccer star Pele a run for his money. Pepper was definitely her personality.

because it was warm. When we would watch basketball, she would get on the TV and try to "catch" the players as they ran up and down the court. (She also did the same thing to the fish tank.)
