Andre Rieu in Maastricht. Well worth a visit.

2am here in Maastricht, and just returned to my room after a night of Andre Rieu in concert. If you have the money and time, I would seriously recommend coming over. He has 3 weeks of concerts in Maastricht, his home town, and the set up is outstanding. YouTube it.

POV, is that he in many cases introduces classical music to so many more people, and that can only be a good thing. I brought my 11 year old kid, who loved it. Next stop will be a light opera for him.

The occasion as well, in his home town of Maastricht, is special, plus last night he had a special guest.... Knightrider.....oh and the Hoff too !!!

But Andre Rieu is happy music. It's OK to both despise it and enjoy it simultaneously.

... but I never got to attend one of his concerts.

I don't think he performs in America very often, so not many chances to see him here.
Sounds like it was a wonderful concert!

Thanks for the heads-up! Most of his concert dates are on the West Coast in October and November.
Also he has 3 shows scheduled in Florida in November.

Unfortunately this doesn't help me because I'm in Pittsburgh. I would have been able to come to New York but he has nothing booked in New York (or anywhere near me.)
