(11,834 posts)I watched it in real time, serialized across several years...then I binged it and it was a Revelation. It is amazingly powerful without the time lag.

(32,596 posts)But now I'm binge watching it from the first show to the end.
It's going to take me awhile but I'm OK with that. Summer is a good time for binge watching that types of shows.
It is really great!

This is a good thread for reference. We are all out of shows to watch at our place and two nights ago I spent nearly two hours flipping through on demand options for movies from xfinity.

Right now I'm working my way through season one of The West Wing.

(115,607 posts)I also binge-watched a terrific Danish series called "Borgen," which is basically a Scandinavian version of "The West Wing" with a female Prime Minister, lots of interesting parliamentary-system intrigue, and quite a bit of sex. If you can find this I highly recommend it.

(1,306 posts)But, in this house Doctor Who and Red Dwarf rule the TV.
"Go to red alert!"
"Are you sure, sir? It will mean changing the light bulb."
"Call it extreme if you like, but I propose we hit it hard and hit it fast with a major - and I mean major - leaflet campaign."
"It's better to have loved and lost than to listen to an album by Olivia Newton-John."
"I'm so gorgeous, there's a six month waiting list for birds to suddenly appear, every time I am near!"
Wounded Bear
(58,604 posts)and, to a lesser degree the spinoffs NCIS-LA and now NOLA. But original is the fave. Love the characters, the stories are pretty creative.

(22,231 posts)I just came up for air after a bingewatch of the original CSI which was on HULU . Unfortunately, CSI New York and CSI Cybercrimes are not available anywhere. I watched CSI Miami when it was on the air. My husband and I watched Criminal Minds recently.
We also liked Royal Pains, Death in Paradise, both on NetFlix.
Since we just reinstalled HBO Now pending the return of Game of Thrones, there is a good bit of bingewatching ahead for us. Starting with Last Week Tonight right now.
We pulled it in via Amazon this time, and we can pull it in on our computers. For some reason the last time we could only get it on our TV through the ROKU No amount of calling or emailing could get HBO to resolve that issue.

(29,322 posts)I've watched the show from beginning to end at least 5 or 6 times and I always pick up something new I missed before. Like Lester Freamon said, "All the pieces matter". Not to mention it was probably the greatest collection of talent all the way down to the guest actors.
I loved Breaking Bad as no other show had me wanting to know what's next but I found it doesn't have much rewatch value. I think Better Call Saul is overall a better written show as I have seen seasons 1 & 2 at least a couple of times.
I'm also a big fan of Washington Spies and also binge watched Prison Break the absurdity of it cracked me up and it had a very wondering what's next feel like BB. There were so many unpredictable twists.
I binge watched The Walking Dead but I don't like it that much.
Shrek
(3,975 posts)I realize I'm nearly two decades behind the curve but so far I enjoy it a lot.
I try to watch one episode a day to help pass the time at the gym while I'm on the treadmill.

(29,322 posts)I enjoyed the show but Tony Soprano reminded me of Archie Bunker but didn't appear to learn much about his views. Also there was this scene where he's asking these evangelicals if it is OK w/ god to take Viagra when he's killing people.
Also Donald Trump's name is mentioned several times including Tony's wife attempting to sell a house to Ivanka Trump. I finished the series earlier this year.

(35,622 posts)Totally hooked. We watched Better Call Saul first, though.
Since people are using this thread for reference, I am going to mention two series that we really, really loved. They were the first two shows we binge watched. We were talking just the other day about how even though series like BCS and BB keep us in suspense and hooked, these two series are witty and unsurpassed.
The first one is a British show called "Waiting for God." It's about residents in a senior apartment complex in England. It is so witty that you could watch it three times and not catch all the clever remarks.
The other is "Dead Like Me." Can think of few series I've enjoyed more than this one. It's a supernatural topic, but even if you're not into that, you'll enjoy this.
I think we'll be re-watching both of these yet this summer.
