(27,792 posts)There's a great winery in Santa Cruz..(I think it's called Bargettos)...where they make dozens of different wines made from different fruits.
The tasting room there is truly memorable...best wine tasting I ever went to.
red dog 1
(27,792 posts)Their fruit wine is sold under the title "Chaucers"
I guess they don't make that many different fruit wines anymore, like they did back in 1974 when some friends & I visited the tasting room.
"Chaucers Mead, Raspberry Mead, Raspberry, Blackberry, Pomegranate, and Apricot are produced from 100% pure fruit or honey without the addition of artificial flavors."
http://bargetto.com/our-story/our-wines/
Too bad they apparently don't make Pear wine anymore...(it was my favorite one), but Pomegranate wine sounds good to me.

(322 posts)forgotten. Pre-Beatles American music has been delegated to the 'oldies' circuit since the late 1960s but classic rock acts have never been labelled as such. A dirty shame IMO.

I was hoping to make another batch this year but Dandelion season this year was short and very rainy so I couldn't rally my young helpers.

Fanning looks a lot like Currie.
I definitely want to see this movie

(18,837 posts)I was born too late to experience the "folk phenomenon," so I discovered this one long after it was released.
It's clear that Jefferson Airplane / Hot Tuna's Jorma Kaukonen heard some DVR along the way.
Captain Beefheart also tapped into this vibe.
Weird little song. Sticks to you like a tick while walking through the woods. Loved it when I first heard it, love it now.

(27,792 posts)The B-52s are scheduled to play at a winery in Saratoga, CA on Friday Aug. 11
This should be a great concert!
Because it's such a small venue, (and not an arena or someplace large), all the seats are likely to be fairly close to the stage.
Coincidentally, Willie Nelson is playing at another Saratoga, CA winery 4 days later, on Aug. 15
If someone could afford to stay near Saratoga, CA for 4 or 5 days next month, they could go to
two great concerts- each one at a small venue with all seats close to the stage.
