Guilty pleasure TV shows from yester-year.

So let's do something fun... maybe embarrassing. What is that campy or goofy TV show that you might not want to admit you like but you love the show because you see something too it.

I have two that can be embarrassing/or people make fun of...

One is Out of this World

BUT my absolute favorite of all would be this one:

anyone else brave enough to admit a guilty pleasure?

1. The Lucy Show
Tue Jul 18, 2017, 03:38 PM
Jul 2017

The one where she was Lucy Carmichael and she worked for Mr. Mooney (Gale Gordon) at the bank. When I was a kid I used to spend a couple weeks in the summer with my grandparents and we watched that every morning on one of the local UHF channels (remember those? I'm old!). When I'm bored I'll watch a couple episodes on YouTube and I'm back in Grandma's living room. Show was really funny too.

You know the show I'd like to see again? "Beauty and the Beast."

Beauty and the Beast (1987 TV series)

Beauty and the Beast is an American fantasy-drama series which first aired on CBS in 1987. Creator Ron Koslow's updated version of the fairy tale has a double focus: the relationship between Vincent (Ron Perlman), a mythic, noble man-beast, and Catherine (Linda Hamilton), a savvy Assistant District Attorney in New York; and a secret Utopian community of social outcasts living in a subterranean sanctuary. Through an empathetic bond, Vincent senses Catherine's emotions, and becomes her guardian.

I could only envision Hercules as an Arnold/The Rock-type character. Sorbo was too cerebral and quiet.

Where Xena was always in-your-face kick-ass, when she wasn't in atonement mode - which added to her being such a fascinating character.

Supporting cast. MICHAEL HURST especially are all awesome actors. That is the only way I can still watch that show... Andromeda on the hand... is collecting dust.

And of course the late great Kevin Smith

He would have been so great - he was destined for better.

Hudson Leick - Callisto - was another of my favorites.

It's really amazing how much went into this show. They lit the way for much of what has followed!

I used to harass a jackass work supervisor with my adaptation of "Joxer the Mighty" - I'd sing it over the intercom at Lowe's after the store closed. I'd get other employees to do a backup of the tune with me, the beat!

I was the only one who laughed - I was the only one who watched "Xena"! Truly an inside joke!

Good times!

mentioned that he'd babysit Ted in his Bio.

Alexandra Tydings as Aphrodite. Brilliant. Later seasons of Xena especially showed such depth to the character.

Brilliant funny awesome show. IMHO

the New Zealand people was diverse in what they did. Stunt Guy also played extras and help as crew hands. Jackson said the Productions of Xena and Hercules being done down there really help in the making of Lord of the Rings.

...especially the early, pre-Barnabas episodes, that just had their own neat, quirly atmosphere. But Jonathan Frid was cool...the show just got stopped in its tracks over some time-flashback, as I recall, and never gained momentum, and it, and its vogue, vanished almost overnight. But I've never forgotten it...
