I've been wanting to see it, and now it's here!
We now have a plan for our Saturday night...
How about you guys? What's on tap for your Saturday night?

(28,394 posts)Could you please send it to me when you are done?
I'm home alone tonight, so I should have a wild party or something. But ... I'm just watching the "Dog Whisperer" with the dogs instead. LOL

(36,294 posts)Wife has kicked me out of the house and I'm staying at a house we own. I have access to the internet, a couple of packages of hot dogs in the fridge and ice cream in the freezer. There's a bed in the bedroom complete with a blanket and two pillows and toilet paper in the bathroom. I'm pretty well set!

(149,593 posts)I'm sorry your wife kicked you out...hope this isn't permanent or a sign of something really bad...

(36,294 posts)She calls me twice a day and stops in about every other day to see how I'm doing. As she let me have the scooter, I drove that to the gas station about a mile away and got the hot dogs and ice cream for tonight.
It's all good and I have nothing to complain about.
Edit: It's nice to see you again Peggy!

(10,097 posts)Hi,
What did you think Peggy? I actually watched that earlier this week. It was pretty brutal watching, I thought it lacked the humor typical of Payne's movies. Clooney was very good as well as the oldest daughter, I would recommend it, but some scenes very difficult to watch.
Peace

(149,593 posts)I really enjoyed it. Yes, some of the scenes are brutal to watch, but that's life. I'm not familiar with Payne, so the lack of humor didn't bother me...
Beautiful scenery!
I liked the pace of it. You had time to absorb what was happening, to see the story line evolve. I felt it was very well done.
As a retired RN, I felt the hospital scenes were true to life.
I recommend it too.

(10,097 posts)Hi Peggy,
Alexander Payne has produced/directed/wrote some that you may have seen. Always some really dark stuff in them, but often humor. Sideways, About Schmidt, Election are the ones I have seen. I loved Sideways, was funny, but then the characters were so pathetic and sad in some ways. He is from Nebraska and has filmed some of his movies, or parts of them here.
Keep on keeping on, and as always, peace.

That said - it was a great movie.... very scary because it could happen.
The Descendents was a wonderful movie! Saw it on the Big Screen, but it's in my queue as well...
I want to see it again.

(149,593 posts)Contagion sounds scary! Not sure I'm ready for anything that intense...
I'm sure you'll enjoy The Descendents again. I always see things I missed the first time around.
