See it in a theater. It's a big screen epic. The cinematography is amazing!

(3,400 posts)Well done and very intense. The soundtrack has an almost continuous ticking sound during the action. It really revs up the intensity.

(13,817 posts)Being a big WW2 history buff it's on my agenda. We have a 70 mm iMax here in Ft Laud so it should be neat..

(131 posts)I can't remember ever seeing anything that he was in that I didn't like.
Being both a movie and history buff, I'm looking forward to seeing this one. I haven't seen anyone post anything about not liking it on any of the websites that I visit. The praise for this film seems quite consistent.

(1,473 posts)My daughter remind me that Frankenstein was awful, but I thought his acting was appropriately overwrought and gothic.

(25,746 posts)I found the plot, such as it was, very confusing and difficult to follow. Three different stories are told, one of which apparently plays out over one hour, another over one day, and the third over a week. They are intertwined in a way that does not clarify much, but makes it a complete muddle.
Plus, quite frankly, it was a bit tricky to keep various characters straight.
What happened at Dunkirk is one of the most amazing things ever. I'm not sure this movie does it justice.
In all honesty, the movie "Their Finest" is a better depiction of Dunkirk.

Character development wasn't the point, rather it was to make the audience feel the event itself.
