I love both Bette and Joan and have always been a fan of their psycho-biddy films (even though they were horribly exploited) and was well aware of their "feud" before the series. I am also a huge fan of their earlier work. Especially love Joan in some of her silent films. I was impressed that the series gave Joan a much more sympathetic portrayal.

I loved the series so much, I am actually thinking of purchasing it. Would love to re-watch it.

And, I know a lot of DUers hate Susan Sarandon, but I think she was brilliant as Bette--she nailed it.

My signature has a gif from that mini series--Joan yelling "You're all fired."

and actually, Bette as a hard-nosed whatever, but this mini made both of them HUMAN.

As for SARANDON, her decade of politics has irritated me MAX, but it's a tribute to her that 2 things (Rocky Horror & Thelma) have overpowered my irritation. I can't hate her more than I like her.

Monroe is just luminous. Bette of course, is amazing , as is Celeste Holme. The women really knock this one out of the park.

That film is a treat and a camp classic for many good reasons.

Celeste Holm, George Sanders, and Thelma Ritter (one of my faves, try Rear Window some day) turn in great supporting roles.

Nevertheless, buckle your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy night.

and she died too young. She was in a couple of the Batman TV shows in the sixties, too. She made a great villain.

But nobody can compare to Bette. She had such power and talent. Wow.
