Always have been. Don't expect anyone to care, just wanted everyone to know.

(25,816 posts)While dancing skeletons strike me as amusing, I want to offer sympathy to you. Being terrified of them can't be pleasant, given how they can show up, especially this time of year.
Hang in there, friend.

(25,816 posts)whenever I encounter them, and I must add that I have black widow spiders where I live and so I kill one or two each week, sometimes more, I'm not afraid, I don't freak out, nor do I dread them.
So on one hand I do have sympathy, on the other I'm sort of puzzled. What's so bad about the fake spiders of Halloween? But you don't need to respond, because no response is needed. You dread them, period. Unfortunately, they are more or less everywhere during Halloween, and you'd notice them far more than someone like me who doesn't at all mind the spiders of Halloween.
Hang in there.

(63,172 posts)The 1929 Mickey Mouse cartoon The Haunted House reused some footage from The Skeleton Dance, both to delightfully creepy effect.
The Mickey cartoon, in fact, features a particularly chilling (to me) moment when some anonymous specter forces Mickey to tickle they ivories. "Play," the specter commands him, a single ghastly syllable that terrifies the mouse protagonist into compliance.

(16,373 posts)Actually, I think that's the one that originally terrified me. There is another where I skeleton takes off it's skull and then they play with it. Those were very scary for a toddler!

(63,172 posts)There's one shot in Skeleton Dance in which a skeleton dives face-first at the camera, and the POV goes in its mouth, down his absent "throat," through its ribs and out through the pelvis. Amazing for the time and creepy as hell!
