It's closing in on Mid-October, and I'm still picking peppers out of my garden!

These, today, and if the weather cooperates, there are about half a dozen more that could benefit from a few more days. But if necessary, I'll be picking, chopping and freezing them.

My latest tomato ever was Oct. first one year and it was a shriveled up little gnarly thing. He just let me pick what I wanted and I picked almost 2 dozen beauties.

This is Iowa which is normally pretty nippy by now and a couple of frosts into the season.

And the bushes are still loaded. I'm just throwing them in the freezer. Also tons of tomatoes going to waste unless I throw them to the chickens.

I just picked my last watermelons though. VERY prolific this summer, and I've lived on them, as well as, giving a bunch away.
