A group of us gather monthly at the local library and play games.
Cards against humanity is a favorite, as is a game called Tumbling dice. A multi-level board where dice are shot down the ramp to earn points.
We like to talk and play for 4-5 hours, and eat snacks as well.
PS
political discussion is not allowed at these events.

(36,449 posts)We love Cards, too. My writing group gets together once every 3 months for games & we play something different each time. I don't remember what we've played. We're all on the same page politically, so we bash the Con. Sounds like a good game - bash the con.

(27,800 posts)Now I like Boggle and Bananagrams. I like playing Cards Against Humanity, but I don't know that I'd enjoy playing it in a public library.
Also, I like euchre.

(27,800 posts)sorry if that came off wrong.
With that particular game, though....

(42,641 posts)It tales the game to another level.

(82,849 posts)I don't think they make it anymore, but there's a lot of skullduggery and backstabbing on the way to deciding the winner. I don't know that it's suitable for a library, but it is good for an evening of quaffing alcoholic beverages and creating everlasting vendettas.

(4,492 posts)With the right crowd and alcohol, it is super fun. My friends used to do a game night once a month but life on the campaign trail put the breaks on it (at least for me).
I've been told that Exploding Kittens will debut at one of those.
ETA you can play Cards Against Humanity online

Blank cards are easy to play there. Donald Trump is the ultimate catchall for a blank card.

(14,274 posts)They have not made another version for the Mac since then. I would still play that game if, alas, the file had not become corrupted and no longer loads on my Macs.
Since that happened last autumn, I have stopped playing games.

(22,250 posts)Each deal of the cards has a different meld combination, and there are 8 deals. I especially like that an odd number can play it. We used to have marathon rounds of this game.
