way I did in 2002 - 2003. Watching most of my fellow country people supporting overseas adventures while our our workers i.e. middle class is completely ignored at home. Ukraine is a neocon and MIC supports wet dream in the age of austerity. I don't give a shit if putin doesn't wear a shirt why do we even know about it? Anyone who believes our government EVER cared about the average Jane and Joe in Ukraine is delusional.

(well the MSM) on BOTH sides, Western and Russian, is trying to portray this as a "Cold War- The Sequel" type of situation. And of COURSE, it has MANY elements of that imperialist rivalry involved in it. However, it's not all about the Imperials- Russian or Western. There are real people involved who are trying to hold on to Ukraine for Ukrainians and, more specifically, Ukraine for the Ukrainian WORKERS and the average people.

Barotba is one of those forces trying to save Ukraine for the Ukrainian masses.

the last three paragraphs of the link in your OP and don't see a blame both sides vibe to it at all. As far as RT having the weight and influence of NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, the New York times, the Washington................. We made this damn mess with a bunch of neocon holdovers. Nuland for goodness sake! The same western media that marched us into Iraq is playing the same game now. Completely one sided reporting. I expect it from RT but we are supposed to be the "good" guys. If you can show me any western media giving some love to Bartoba (or even mentioning them) then I'll believe they have a snowballs chance in Arizona.

and probably not even Russian media giving any attention to Barotba. The Western MSM will lump them in to the category of "Russian separatists" and RT will ignore them totally. At least if and until they wind up actually influencing things on the ground in Ukraine. Then they'll probably be called by BOTH sides as "terrorists". And in truth, they are in a very precarious position and the odds ARE stacked against them. I'm (along with Worker's Power and the League for a Fifth International) just trying to give them some notice so that at least a few people realize that there are SOME other forces at work in Ukraine and not just Russia and the West.

Fully agree with your take on the neocon holdovers. Obama has made a lot of mistakes, some of which involved his ideological worldview, and those neocon holdovers was one of his first. I guess Halliburton's profits have taken a hit since the wind down in Iraq and Afghanistan, so they need to gin up another war. So far though, the American people aren't buying what they're selling.

The so far though part of your last sentence is what I worry about the most. The constant headlines about events on the other side of the globe can eventually turn that around. If our politicians and media spent 1 20th of the attention they spend on affairs abroad at communities within 5 miles of the capital building we could actually start seeing our country get rebuilt. I find it quite telling that as soon as serious sequestration and budget issues started to impact and go after MIC spending then all the sudden we have a confrontation with a major world power.

I appreciate the contributions you make to this site.

Peace.
