9. You know, I've always believed that one of my jobs on DU.....

is to advocate and propagandize Marxist thought and analyses to left reformists/radicals. Those are the people who would eventually make up a revolutionary mass party. Right now they sit in the left reformist camp or they have some radical political stands, but no overall framework to attach those political stands to. Since I started posting on here I've considered that my job on DU, to convert the left reformists.

Weekends without trolls is a good time to post substance. I do believe there are a great number of DUers who feel as we do - at least to some degree. They're just not as loud as the corporate crew.

is MUCH more to the left of the DU Third Way brigade. They are just noisemakers. It's proven every time a poll is posted on economic and self identification.

I hadn't noticed that about the weekend. I'll try and watch out for it. I know that, like most folks, the weekends are the time when I have more time to being a "mouse potato" and posting a good bit.

of a successful OP. I think it's the responsibility of the original poster to defend their points, but it's REAL nice when others jump in to take the load off the OP in that defense. This particular thread succeeded in that.

Yep I'm pretty surprised about that too. I personally think it's an agenda by the Third Way types to derail discussions about alternative methodologies to capitalism.
