If this is an early attempt, I look forward to what happens after you practice.

on the canvas. So much so that I love when you can’t really tell if there is a subject matter or if it’s the artist just enjoying the smearing motions and the scratching and layering. I can get completely lost in that. It’s sensuality and candy for the eyes.

Now I’m looking forward to seeing much more of your work with this particular method. Does it feel natural to you? It looks like it does.

I love it!

I haven't used the palette knife yet except to mix colors. You've got me wanting to try it!

You sure do have a way with light and sky.

The hardest part for me though? Putting out those tablespoons of paint on the palette instead of just little dabs of paint. Made me cringe to use so much! I had to stop and tell myself that I can buy new tubes of paint when these are finished, not to worry.

I was a whole lot more conservative with the small dabs of the cadmiums, though, because those are costly paints compared to the others. The ultramarine blue, titanium white, burnt umber....those colors I can definitely afford to replace when they get used up. The cadmiums, you can’t help but go “ouch” when you have to buy a tube of those. You know how it is.

Some artists use liquin or cold wax or things like that to extend the paint some so they don’t end up using as much. Maybe a teaspoon of paint instead of a tablespoon of paint.
