A couple of the movies tomorrow deal with postwar scenarios, but today we have a real classic of that category, The Best Years of Our Lives.
I was going to post a trailer, but frankly a couple of the ones on YouTube were either spoiler-laden or a bit misleading, so I'll leave it to the curious to look them up.
In any event, though the movie was made during enforcement of the Production Code, it pushes the envelope in a couple of areas, and many of its themes are still highly relevant -- i.e., PTSD, unsavory political developments, the plight of the disabled, unemployed, and/or estranged vet.
