Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas, Ava Gardner, Fredric March, Edmond O'Brien. Wonderful acting by all.
And yes, All the President's Men is the top of the heap.
Also The Manchurian Candidate is on the list.
(Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, also with a stellar cast.) Nope! Replace that one with Z by Costa-Gavras. A gripping film. (Thanks catbyte! )
I round it out with All the King's Men, with an incredible Broderick Crawford and a well deserved Oscar.

I had forgotten about Z. It's about the Greek counter-revolution in the 60's.
