1. In a long ago life, in my first career, I had to work on that book before

its publication.

I was very young and didn't understand the world.

It was so disgusting and so crammed with violence and hatred against women and graphic descriptions of torture of women, I thought it would die quickly and we'd be quit of it as a culture.

Now I understand those qualities almost guarantee success and respect in our culture. It certainly did for that piece of trash of a book.

A sad thing.

Never did watch the movie.

2. I read the book during my commute to and from work

I never grimaced so much just reading text.
