19-year-old George Van den Broek ( Yellow Days) isn't well known, but that'll change I think. He released this track two years ago, which is when I first heard him. The groove here is seductive, the synths are clever, and his voice is a bluesy, gravelly marvel.

1. I like this, I like how he sings Juuuuuust behind the beat

His phrasing is pretty distinctive and sometimes I like my soul singers on the gravelly end of the spectrum. (not everyone can be Lou Rawls)
