As a blues rocker, I felt a connection to him when he sat with his eyes closed singing along to Catfish Blues at the Whitehouse Blues Summit.

He has best songs in 3 different areas.

Love songs - he's famous for them and "Let's Stay Together" and "Love and Happiness" are super duper famous, BUT this song is probably partly responsible for at least one of my children:



Gospel was his 1st home. This song is a sermon:


And finally he made songs that simply have to be played at the barbecue when every one pours their second cup of brown liquor:
