It's got a fascinating structure in that they play the whole song as an instrumental then there's one verse with a vocal and that's it. I think this was written for a film's closing credit.
Another interesting point is that in the first part of the instrumental section, the accompaniment features an acoustic guitar solo with an electronic piano, (probably a Fender Rhodes), while in the second half, it's reversed: Electric guitar solo with acoustic piano.

(7,725 posts)good times. Great time to be alive back then. It was nothing but upside if you were ready to try, and work. The Land of Promise. Sure glad I'm not young anymore, and disappointed we're at a spot when the best times of our beloved country seem to be behind us forever in that regard. Stunning how fast we fell. The punishment for those who destroyed it, should be harsh.
I found two boxes of LPs last night after hearing a few songs. All still there. Kind of worked over as far as condition. Sat and thumbed through them thinking about putting a STACK of albums on the record player and how they would drop one by one. Then play. Good times.

(57,073 posts)they sold the building after ten years of being in one place. The first thing out and the first thing in the new place was the sound. I started out in loft and I'm ending out in a loft.
Stopped hand dying and now I'm weaving rag carpets again. As I get older I'll start spinning. Pretty much the cycle of being a man in the fabric cycle since the middle ages. The new loom (about 100 yrs old) is pretty close to my grandfather's, who cycled from farmer to coal miner to truck farmer and then weaver. Black lung kept him from spinning. My favorite spinning wheel is a sailors or castle wheel. yarn for nets and sail were woven from it and it sat in the castle or bow of a fishing boat so it could be used at slow fishing times.
Everything is about cycles and times. They ALWAYS get better. Hunker down. Stay angry but don't go mad.

(7,725 posts)What a uniquely wonderful labor of love. A skill very few in America still have. Grateful you have a roof over your head and a job/hobby you love and touches the family roots. I love lofts. Winter is the best time to indulge in inside endeavors. Somehow takes a shade of guilt out of being inside whacking away at something when others may be outside or in an altogether more social enviornment. Sincere best wishes for a contented Christmas season. Regards, C.C.
