1. I Remember The First Time I Heard This

It was a true "What is this?" moment. The guitar sounded nothing like any tone I'd ever heard.
My wife & I were at a Chinese restaurant and a bar regular came in with the cassette.
He wanted to play it on the sound system (the bartender was his friend) & he asked if we'd mind.
We said it was ok by us.
We heard the whole first side.
2 days later, I bought the album!

... so I bought albums and just loved them. David Lee might have been an ass, but he was the right singer for this band. a lot of energy and you can understand every word and catch every lick. They were designed to be played really loud.

I love this whole album. It seemed revelatory to me at the time. I loved watching this album climb the charts as they toured with Black Sabbath. Poor Sabbath having to follow their opening set in ‘78.
