Days of amazing music. Anyone remember this one?

I've been on a bit of downer lately, knowing that I'm getting older (and yes, time DOES fly). And then after talking to my best friend of 50 years, she reminded me how fortunate we were to grow up at a time with so much creativity and unbelievable music. She's right. The Yardbirds were the springboard for Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck. And this is one of my favs - somehow it came to me while talking to my husband.
Just as applicable today than it was then...maybe even more so.

Yeah, the '60s were tumultuous and a difficult decade to live thru in so many ways. But I feel blessed to have grown up with the music that I did. I was a freshman in high school the first time The Beatles appeared on Ed Sullivan. Which means I grew up with bands like The Stones, Kinks, Animals and Yardbirds. The garage bands of the mid-decade, stuff like Gloria, 96 Tears and She's About a Mover. Then Cream and Big Brother and the Holding Company. The Supremes, The Temps, Otis and The Four Tops. The Byrds, The Beach Boys and The Doors.

What a decade for music.
