And I am far from the only one to do so.
I mean Jeez, they released perhaps the sorriest "Rock" song in history FFS.
But they had some real gems back in the 70s. So, in the pursuit of balance, I looked up a few of them...

This song is - of course - gorgeous
Back when a lot of what I listened to came to me via AM radio in a late 60s Plymouth, this song was a true banger. I still love the grunt and the guitar break at 2:06.
And this song shows that not all of their 80s music was drivel.

(23,083 posts)It's got all I need, screaming tasty guitar riffs, great vocals, & great intensity. I really enjoyed their show so much when I saw them in 1970 at West Palm Pop Festival, wish I had gotten to see them more than once.

(33,643 posts)Once they became just Starship though ... I mean, y'all know I'm from the Bay, I'll always cut local acts some slack, and the Airplane is iconic ... but that's a big part of why Starship is such a travesty.
That said, glad they made their bucks ... something to be said for that.
