Cash's version is nice, but I still like the angry hard-hitting Cornell version better.

My boyfriend has lived in Seattle his entire life - we are 49. He has so much music knowledge, it is mind blowing sometimes. He turned me on to both. I am a transplanted hick from MO so didn’t get any of the grunge scene. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chris Cornell and all his music! Most of the stuff he covered I like better then the original, also.

I think I like alternate arrangements in general. One of the wackier ones I like is Vintage Postmodern Jukebox covering Radiohead’s Creep.

So I prefer the Soundgarden. The Cash version is good and his style breathes new life to the song.
