4. What is your interpretation of the song?

Who is she? Gaia?

What do you think the significance of all of the hikers being men?

5. I'm not sure. I have a few ideas, mostly taken from others.

For instance, I hadn't considered the Gaia angle that you brought up,; that's a possibility. I read on a review by fans that they fear the/song and video represent the lead singer leaving the band. The remaining members must let him leave with love and dignity.

I wondered if the fated hiker was suffering from the loss of his love-he seemed subdued and troubled before the fall. Did he decide to let go and fall to his probable death? Did he choose to die in a place he loved and aspired to be? I don't think it would be a conscious decision considering how hard that would be on his friends.

The magnificence of the scenery does seem to celebrate the reverence they have for Nature.

Life can be treacherous. You might as well take risks and fully live.
