1. I love that show ... watched it a bunch of times, was so happy they got in finally ...

I love how they come out and torn the roof off with one of their most brutally rocking (and mostly unknown) songs ... the slab of gloom known as Shake Dog Shake ... hell the album it on (The Top) was their only record that ever went out of print, you couldn't find it for like 10 years except used.

Only Robert would show up for this sorta celebration and open with a song that has lyrics like

we slept all night in the virgins bed
and dreamed of death
and breathed like sick dogs

Turned out he did it to honor the recent passing of a former band member who played only on one Cure album ... The Top ... but it was still fun. He could've picked like The Caterpillar, but noooooo ...

It just got better from there ...

2. Yea he deserved it. I always thought he had one of the

great voices in all of R&R. I met a girl in the early 80s who was into New Wave and she first turned me on to this group. Couldn't help but end up a fan.

4. Guess it's kind of typical for covers to pop up for great songs,

some of which the covers aren't so great. But I thought the one I posted by the original was pretty great. Like Mr. Lebowski commented above about this show, I too recommend it for anyone surfing YouTube that hasn't heard it.

5. I'm glad the song has gotten the attention it deserves.

I think the Cure was underrated for a long time, but they gradually got the praise they deserve.
