i was feeling nostalgic and needed to hear something that ROCKS
yes they got too big and billy's head got WAY too big, but when siamese dream dropped, man ... they were the coolest thing there was at that time, and that disc was on my stereo for like a year straight. i still love it. gish, too. mellon collie ... eh. some songs.
and this song is, IMHO, a masterpiece among the collection of masterpieces
of course ... very loud is very highly recommended ...
studio version
and live from the '93 tour, upon which I saw them at the Warfield, SF ... on my birthday ... from 2nd row of the balcony, center ...

(16,616 posts)It would be very hard, but if I had to pick my favorite album of the 90s it would be Siamese Dream.
Saw them at Lollapalooza in '94.
I've wanted to post their stuff here, but with Billy so far off the deep end I thought I might get yelled at.
P.S. to Billy.: It's not a Smashing Pumpkins reunion if D'arcy isn't there.
Thanks!

(33,643 posts)I listened to both those discs in a row MANY a time back in the day.
Rhinoceros is my jam on Gish, freaking love that song. Though every song on both albums is great-to-amazing.
Happy to be of service

(11,795 posts)I grew up in the 70s & 80s man. Pure cock/corporate rock. Fucking Gish knocked me on my ass. That and.....Holy fuck man! We both forgot Janes! The fucks wrong with us! But Gish, Janes, and Louder than Love were really eye opening. As was Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste is up there too. Oh and 100% Fun. Hows that for a crazy juxtaposition?

(33,643 posts)Love the trio of GF, Altered Beast and 100% Fun but my edge has to go to the first ... I saw Matthew on all 3 of those tours, I was a huge fanboy
ANNNND ... if I went to 30, I also would've had Pretty Hate Machine or Downward Spiral. Tough to choose, might've had both ...
Oh, and damn ... Blood Sugar Sex Magick ... that was pretty epic.
Jane's Addiction's 2 great albums are the 80's, so ... I bought those both pretty immediately when they came out at the time. (edit: I guess Ritual was 1990, my bad).
But here's one in Jane's honor ... from their debut album, before Nothing's Shocking.
