Blue Sky: The Allman Brothers

1972. By Dickey Betts.

~ Lyrics

Walk along the river, sweet lullaby, it just keeps on flowing,
Don't fly, mister blue bird, I'm just walking down the road,
Early morning sunshine tell me all I need to know
You're my blue sky, you're my sunny day.
Lord, you know it makes me high when you turn your love my way,
Turn your love my way, yeah.

Good old Sunday morning, bells are ringing everywhere.
Goin' to Carolina, it won't be long and I'll be there
You're my blue sky, you're my sunny day
Lord, you know it makes me high when you turn your love my way,
Turn your love my way, yeah, yeah

Hindsight is great, looking back I should have m. mid-late 70s (I thought I was too young, wrong. lol) but a move, more education and career came up.

We used a jazz pianist, super guy with a trio in DC from a popular jazz club on Penn. Ave. Perfect for the reception at a historic Dupont Circle home.

I didn't realize in planning that it was the 20th anniv. of the March on Washington, so tons of traffic and 98 degree heat, but it was a blast. Flew the next day to Paris, then Cannes, surprise honeymoon gift from my great little brother who was in the music and entertainment business in NY.

Lawrence Wheatley, jazz pianist and composer, One Step Down Club.
