Let's make it harder - - Favorite Joni Mitchell Album

Only 10 spots, so I will have to prune her release list - let's say, up to Don Juan (I really didn't listen to much of her stuff after that one)

But Song to a Seagull, Hissing of Summer Lawns and Hejira are all up there for me too.

Also defines a particular time in my life - very nostalgic.

There is no "bad" Joni album, but I think on Don Juan she really hit a stride with more sophisticated orchestration and long-form pieces. It also benefitted by Jaco Pastorius in his prime, and dreamy poetry with many moods, the drumming on "Dreamland" and on and on.

I need to go back and listen to Don Juan - for whatever reason I did a pass on it long ago.

But there are no bad Joni albums, indeed!

I fell in love with her during her Clouds /Ladies of the Canyon/ Blue period - early-mid 70s.

Blue and Court and Spark. The earlier albums were wonderful but Blue was it until Court and Spark. Hissing of Summer Lawns would be and honorable mention.
