They were way out there experimenting quite a bit and dropping loads of LSD...personally, I think they produced some of their best on this album and sparked what would be a template for psychedelia for the rest of the decade...

Fonda was saying a lot of nonsensical stuff like I know what its like to be dead. They turned the gender around and made a song about it.
