Wow, that's like 70 BPM! Of course, with the drummer playing that sixteenth-note shuffle, it sounds more lively.

Great track - I love Howlin' Wolf! And I was not familiar with this song. Thanks.

I'm sure you're familiar with this live performance of "Smokestack Lightnin'" but I just had to post it because it's so haunting and unearthly (but earthy and hard-driving as hell at the same time). What an amazing songwriter and performer.

And you’re right. I think it was the beat that led to my love of this song. Plus the incredible vocals.
