Bored with me look. Really toying with Steve's shag cut. Whatdyall think? Caveat. I wear bells when I'm not at work and have straight single layer long hair. In short, I look like an Allman Brother.

(7,911 posts)That's what I do. What little hair I have left just gets buzzed off once a month or so.
It's very low maintenance, and I don't even have to own a comb anymore.

I do appreciate the advice though binkie, but I'll probably pass....

(11,583 posts)How long is your hair?
Glamrock
(11,787 posts)Like I said, I could pass for an Allman circa '76.
2:20 mark and guy in the Huggie Bear hat throughout...

(11,583 posts)I still say go for it. If you get bored with it later you can always grow it out again.

(11,787 posts)I've always liked that shag look...... And it'll still go with me wardrobe!
Thanks beagles!

(11,787 posts)It's a shame. Although it was his alcoholism that did him in. Died in a house fire after a, night at the pub. Rolled his own smokes, but bummed a few at the bar. Speculation says it was a cigarette that started the fire. Found his body at the front door.....
RIP Steve.

(33,643 posts)Also had valium and coke in his system though, and he was found in his bedroom, he barely made it from the bed actually ... I just checked the wiki
Dunno how anyone can sing remotely decent while on blow, I really don't. Pot is really bad for my voice too, and booze more than a small amount is not real helpful. Now, opioids, otoh ... lol ...

(11,787 posts)I found alcohol would clear the vocal cords of cigarette tar. I'd gargle with whiskey before I hit the stage and my range would go up half an octave. And weed? Shit. Probably right about that, but the focus you derive outweighed any negatives for me personally. I was far more emotional and "in the tune" when I was high. Refused to go on stage without smoking a bowl first. But that's just me. I was always more rock n roll than professional......but alas, it served me well!

(33,643 posts)By ear I mean ... And it f***s up my ability to sing in tune, limits my range noticeably, and just generally makes me sing poorly.
Don't get me wrong, I've done so at home, or even band practice, but not before a gig. It makes me suck, pretty much. Oh, and it makes me forget lyrics like hell.
I'm kinda jealous that it helps you

(11,787 posts)I'm not currently playing with anyone, but it was a, bug part of my thing, dig? Without it is going to be weird....
mr_lebowski
(33,643 posts)special occasions (like one hit for a gig ... and once your system is clear, one hit will do ya) ... it's not likely to show up for > a day or two at most.
Depends I guess on how often you're tested and how precious the jerb is ...
But I hear ya ... hard to break with tradition

(47,534 posts)I mean super straight, dead straight, gravity-straight-to-the-floor straight.
I've only ever been able to wear it super long or super short.
I've tried layers a couple of times, but I've never been good with product or blow-dryers, so I'd end up growing it back out.
Luckily, that thin straight hair grows mad fast.
If you can pull it off, though, I say go for it!
