Seriously. He was wayyyy before my time. But damn. So much to borrow from as a singer. Blues, jazz, country, soul. I've spent weeks trying to get my voice to be able to cop some Ray runs. Love him.

There's a video of him doing Leon Russell's A Song for You with Leon Russell and Willie Nelson. I literally broke into tears. The emotion he injected into an already fantastic song was so overwhelming I couldn't handle it.
