(1,278 posts)One of the few times that the rock world embraced the college marching band era. Also predates MTV by a year or two.

(64,867 posts)22 months! That album came out in October 1979.
MTV went on the air 8/1/81. Eight-one-eight-one. I'm guessing they did it on purpose.
The reason I remember it is that I knew a guitar player that was on a cable system that was ready to launch.
Our cable system was still expanding & we weren't getting the new channels until at least Thanksgiving's.
A few others were in the same boat, so he held an MTV launch party. Started at 10pm.
We stayed until around 5 in the morning.
The next day was, gladly, Sunday.
BTW: Tusk is about my 5th favorite Fleetwood Mac song.
Number 2 is "The Chain"
This is #1. I love the guitar part & the sampled "oohs" "uhs", & " ahs" are so cool!

(11,088 posts)I wonder if there is any college marching band that doesn't play Tusk in the stands - back when we had football games with bands, fans, and such. The percussion bit is just too cool.
