4. He has been nuts like this for a long time..

Hubster was in a bluegrass band in the 90s and a little beyond, and they played several festivals with Ricky’s band. Ricky used to regularly preach from the stage. The older crowd tended to like it, but the rest of us, including a lot of the other musicians, would roll our eyes and head off to the concession stand. I’ve seen waves of people get up and leave during his ranting, returning in time for the next act.

He has always been a religious wacko, and he’s keeping right up with the religious wacko times.

3. His disturbing politics aside (as I see from an earlier post), there are any number of videos that

belong in this thread. It seems to me there's one at least one where he's hardly any bigger than the mandolin.

This clip starts with Ricky Skaggs talking about his first time on Stage with Bill Monroe when he was only six years old. I could not find footage of that appearance but I did find one with Lester Flatt's And Earl Scruggs in 1961 when he was only seven years old and another from 1970 when he was jamming with Seldom Scene in Norton VA.
