Never understood why women went so gaga over Elvis. Sure, he had a good voice, was daring with those swivel-y hips, and he was kinda cute… but just kind of. I never fully understood.

Now, I see it.

There is something here that wasn’t present in all the short clips of him I’ve seen or even in his movies. Cannot place my finger on what it is, exactly, but it’s there. And I get it now.

Yep, Young Elvis was a hottie.

Thanks! I love Frank and enjoyed this a lot.

to go back to the US in 1960 after 2 years in the army, drafted 1958.

He adapted 'O Sole Mio' into the hit song, 'It's Now or Never.'

In the early performances and films he sang and looked the best, before more years, garish costumes and declining popularity and health.

Elvis in summer 1974. He sang really well and looked terrific, but after that he went into real decline, d. Aug. 1977. Tragic.

Went to see Frank in concert c. 1992, he too looked and sounded great. What a voice.

In NYC once we met a school friend downtown at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Towards the end of lunch, I heard someone singing, and on the way out I noticed singer Tony Bennett on a staircase. Another magnificent voice and talent.
