we played it in the band I was in in high school....we had horns! Pretty good band, we were just getting ready to travel out of state for some shows, when we got busted drinking at a Catholic high school during a break. Oops....good times haha...

Guy who wrote Vehicle also did Eye of the Tiger.

Jim Peterik. Still lives in the western burbs of Chicago.

I was in the band in high school. I played the trumpet during marching season and French horn during concert season. Later they had me play the mellophone, or marching French horn, during marching season. We played a couple of songs similar to this, but not this one. This song was on my mind this morning and it was reminding me of those times. It's funny how music, like scents, evokes memories. Seems like my clearest memories involve certain songs or smells.

Separately, well before we met.
Later, I reconnected with Jim, because 2 guys I knew in high school were now in Survivor.
Jim's still playing festivals & big events around Chicago.
Back in the 80s, I went to his house.
He has a HOUSE!!!! I'm guessing 18,000 square feet, but with a full recording studio in the basement. Has to be close to 45,000 cubic feet!
He made TONS of money with his knock off of the beach boys tune for those old Sunkist Orange Soda commercials.
He did ok on this song too.
He's super savvy about business. His first contract with Scotti Brothers (Survivor) was unbelievable for a "first two albums" deal. Everybody in that band got very comfortable while the others were still in their 20s.
