I wonder how often he needed to get his bridge worked on. Looks like he stuck machine heads wherever he could on a 6 string, rather than getting a 12 string and leaving a 3 machine heads empty

the added stress on one side of a standard bridge seem like it could cause issues

I know I’ve seen photos of 2 or 3 different guitars. They’re pretty interesting.

For a good read, look up “Me and Big Joe” by Michael Bloomfield. The guy was a character.

I love it when I hear new things, a 9 string guitar is "news" to me and I like it. It really works with this song.
