(9,144 posts)I was working as music director at an FM Top 40 station. To promote the single, the record company sent a silver bullet to station music directors. It was a piece of lead, shaped like a round of ammunition, painted silver. There was a hole drilled through it, and one of those cheap beaded chains fed through the hole so it could be worn as a necklace.
I took the chain off, and carried it as a pocket piece for a few years. In 1978 I was flying to Arizona, and tossed the bullet along with my keys and change into the basket before going through the metal detector. I couldnt believe the kerfluffle that thing caused, even with a hole through what would have been the shell casing, they thought I was trying to carry ammunition onto the plane.

(15,325 posts)..back in 1978! Did they not listen to the radio!
Also, that destiny would place you as a music director at an FM Top 40 station, in those iconic music days of 1976!!
There was A LOT going on in that industry at that time.
The stories you must have to tell...
As for me, I went to a party one night in '73 & finally went home in 1981.
A wild time to be around, huh!
Enjoy your day ~
